"I've tried everything and nothing works!"
1st Aug 2023
Do you feel like you’ve tried EVERYTHING but NOTHING WORKS!?!
When it comes to your little one’s sleep it can be really demoralising when you can’t work out why sleep has gone so awry and not know how to put things right.
-
You’ve tried tweaking their timings but your baby still isn’t getting the sleep they need.
-
You tried traditional sleep training methods but it ended in tears for everyone!
-
You tried lullabies, projecting lights on the ceiling, weighted blankets, you name it but no luck!
-
You may have even tried gentle approaches where you cuddle and shh and pat but STILL can’t get them settling happily to sleep.
The truth is, the reason you aren’t making the positive changes you so desperately want is because sleep is more complex to solve than you think!
What i’m about to say is said without judgement; trust me I know sleep is tricky!!! But here’s the thing;
- You need to manage your expectations around what’s age appropriate.
- You need to learn and then meet your baby’s unique sleep needs.
- You need to address the cause of the issue, not the symptom!
- You need an approach that’s right for your baby’s temperament.
I know this sounds like an almost impossible task. How are you supposed to find out the cause of the issue? How do you know what approaches would work for your baby?
You have a few options;
-
Wait it out. At some point your baby WILL sleep better. They will grow, sleep will mature and you will get back to a full night’s rest.
-
Go to Dr.Google and research THE HELL out of your situation and put in place some steps that you feel comfortable with.
-
Get some help from someone who’s had the training and experience to pin point what's going on and what to do about it.
There’s a lot that can go into making or breaking sleep and there’s no shame in seeking help!
